Slough in Bloom

Flowers, hanging baskets and gardens are being tended to with extra care now the 2015 Slough in Bloom competition has launched.
The annual competition was launched on 6 May by deputy Mayor of Slough, Councillor Mohammed Rasib and the Slough in Bloom committee at Salt Hill Park.
The competition has been running for more than 20 years and has been encouraging keen gardeners and businesses to take part in making Slough a more attractive place to live and work in with displays of flowers.
There are seven general categories and three specifically for council tenants.
The general categories are:
- Residential front garden
- Residential hanging baskets, window boxes and containers
- Community group project
- Student project
- Public house/ restaurant/ hotel
- Retail premises
- Business/ commercial premises.
The council tenant categories are:
- Front garden
- Communal garden.
Winners in the domestic categories will receive vouchers and the business categories will receive framed certificates. The overall winner will receive a trophy, which will be presented at the awards day on 12 September.

All entries must be received by Saturday 4 July, with judging taking place from 13 July.
